A fine Danish Louis XVI gilded bronze mounted-mahogany secretaire, by C.F Harsdorff, Copenhagen, circa 1780-1790, in two parts: the stepped rectangular top with a fret carved gallery above to tambour doors, the slant front opening to a fitted interior numerous drawers and mirrored cubby holes. One section with an ingenious hidden mechanism to open a hidden compartment. Three long drawers flanked by plain columns with bronze Corinthian capitals raised on bracket feet. Details
