Glazed Ceramic Bear Sculpture by Carl Johan Bonnesen, Denmark, c. 1900
Carl Johan Bonnesen, 1868–1933
Rare and impressive unique sculpture of two courting bears, crafted in glazed ceramic with a striking copper-rich glaze featuring vivid tonal variation. The glaze clearly references classical Song dynasty ceramics, reinterpreted in a bold and distinctly Nordic expression.
Signed: Carl J. Bonnesen
Very good condition with a few minor, insignificant chips.
