Gerhard Henning, 1929 Plaster Study of a Standing Nude Woman
Gerhard Henning, 1880–1967
Preliminary study for a bronze sculpture, executed in plaster with original patina. The sculpture depicts a standing nude female figure with both hands resting on her hips. Over one arm she holds a draped cloth, and on the opposite wrist she wears a bracelet. She also wears a necklace.
Dated 1929, indistinctly signed.
The sculpture has remained in the same family to this day. It was originally given as a gift in 1929 to the grandfather of the current owner, who was a close friend of Gerhard Henning.
