Armand Petersen – Large Macaw Bird in Stoneware, Bing & Grøndahl, 1930s

€3,500

Rare large and beautifully sculpted stoneware figure of an Macaw (ara parrot), designed by Armand Petersen (1891–1969) and produced by Bing & Grøndahl in the 1930s.

Executed in stoneware with a richly nuanced matte to softly satin-glazed surface, the sculpture displays warm tones of brown, cream, and amber that enhance the organic quality of the form. Petersen’s distinctive ability to balance naturalistic observation with a refined, sculptural simplicity is evident throughout.

The parrot is depicted perched calmly on a cubic base, lending the piece a strong architectural presence and a timeless elegance that complements both classic and contemporary interiors.

The base bears the Bing & Grøndahl mark as well as the artist’s monogram.

Presented in very good condition.
