Gustavian bureau / secrétaire in two sections, crafted in oak with a soft grey-white finish and a beautiful patina.
The upper section features double doors with moulded panels, brass fittings, and wrought iron hinges. Inside are shelves for storage, with a fitted top section designed for hanging silverware. Crowned top with a moulded cornice decorated with carved fine dentil detailing, characteristic of the Gustavian style.
The lower section, with carrying handles, has a slanted fall-front that opens to reveal a beautifully arranged interior in a striking blue tone. The interior is fitted with multiple small drawers and a central cupboard with a fluted front and lock.
Below are four drawers with brass hardware. The top drawer is narrow with a decorative fluted front, above three larger drawers with architecturally detailed paneling, flanked by quarter columns.
The piece is finished with a carved moulded edge with dentil detail and stands on fluted legs.
A highly decorative and functional piece with great character and a fine, authentic patina.
