Arne Bang - Large Ribbed Stoneware Bowl, Denmark, Mid-20th Century
Arne Bang (1901–1983)
Decorative stoneware bowl by the Danish ceramic artist Arne Bang.
The bowl features a boldly ribbed body and a wide, open form. Its richly nuanced glaze displays earthy tones of olive green, brown, bronze and grey, creating depth across the surface and enhancing its organic character.
Signed AB and numbered 189 on the base.
The underside shows a few firing cracks in the glaze. These occurred during the firing process and should be regarded as part of the manufacturing process rather than as damage.
Denmark, mid-20th century.
