Elegant French Louis XVI wall mirror crafted in carved and giltwood (walnut), dating from circa 1750–1780.
The rectangular frame is richly decorated with finely carved ornamentation and a delicate beaded inner border, creating a refined and classically balanced appearance.
The original gilding has acquired a beautiful warm patina over time, with areas of the red bole ground naturally showing through, bearing witness to the mirror's age and authenticity.
The original mercury mirror plate displays a striking, naturally foxed surface with beautiful oxidation and age-related character, creating remarkable depth and a decorative quality that only centuries-old mercury glass can achieve.
Presented in good original condition with charming age-related patina consistent with its age.
