19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Peach Wood Sideboard, 1840-60

Chinese sideboard crafted from solid peachwood, with a warm golden tone and beautiful, lively grain.
The front features a central pair of doors together with two outer sections that can also be opened. This construction provides access across the full width of the interior and makes the sideboard particularly practical. The interior is fitted with a full-width shelf.
The doors are mounted with patinated brass fittings, creating a fine contrast with the warm colour of the peachwood. The sideboard has a simple and harmonious form with framed panels and straight legs.
Furniture made from peachwood is rare, and the distinctive colour and grain of the wood give this sideboard a particularly individual character.
