Patrick Nordström Unique Stoneware Vase for Royal Copenhagen, Denmark, 1919
Patrick Nordström (1870–1929).
Unique stoneware vase made for Royal Copenhagen, signed with monogram, three waves and dated 18 March 1919.
The vase has a harmonious baluster form and is finished in a vivid pale blue crystalline glaze. The surface is scattered with fine white speckles and organic runs, while warm brown iron tones break through the glaze in places along the rim and body. These natural variations are an integral part of Nordström’s artistic expression and give the vase its distinctive individual character.
