Anders Børgesen Large Sculptural Glazed Stoneware Vase, Denmark, 2025
Large sculptural stoneware vase by Danish ceramic artist Anders Børgesen (b. 1982).
The vase has a low, rounded form with a pronounced tactile relief covering the entire body. The repetitive pattern consists of elongated, drop-shaped elements that follow the contours of the vase and gradually decrease in size towards the opening and base. Subtle variations between the individual elements give the otherwise rhythmic structure a lively, organic character.
Glazed in shades of green and turquoise with warm olive-green variations. The glaze gathers in darker tones within the recessed areas, accentuating the rhythm of the relief and adding depth to the surface.
Signed with monogram and dated -25.
Anders Børgesen works with wheel-thrown forms and hand-modelled decoration, with repetitive patterns and tactile surfaces forming central elements of his work. His ceramics draw inspiration from nature, architecture and the Danish ceramic tradition.
