Baroque style Dining Table from the Philippines in Balayong and Molave Wood
A beautiful dining table from the Philippines, crafted between 1840 and 1860.
The frame is made from dark balayong wood, while the center panel of the tabletop is made from a single piece of lighter molave wood.
The Philippines, a Spanish colony from 1525 to 1898, developed a unique tradition of Spanish colonial-style furniture, often used in monasteries and by Spanish-related families.
At 173 cm in length, this table is especially well-suited as a dining or work table.
Philippines, 1840 and 1860.
