Christine Swane (née Larsen) was the sister of Johannes Larsen and a significant figure in Danish modernism.
Her work is characterised by a simplified, decorative treatment of form and a refined sense of colour, both of which are evident in this composition from 1960.
Signed with monogram lower left. Also signed and dated on the reverse: Christine Swane 1960.
