Iconic Model 36 desk designed by Severin Hansen (also known as Erik Riisager Hansen) and produced by Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in 1958.

Crafted in beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood (Rio rosewood), the desk showcases the exceptional grain patterns and deep, rich tones for which this highly sought-after timber is renowned.

The design features four spacious drawers fitted with original brass escutcheons and accompanying keys. A clean, understated apron and elegantly tapered legs contribute to the desk’s light and refined appearance.

Its harmonious proportions and meticulous craftsmanship make this piece an outstanding example of Danish furniture design from the 1950s, where functionality and aesthetics are brought together in perfect balance.

The Brazilian rosewood veneer remains remarkably well preserved, displaying a striking and almost symmetrical grain pattern across the top.
The desk has been carefully refinished and is presented in excellent condition.

Erik Severin Riisager-Hansen (1936–2020) worked both under his own name and under the name Severin Hansen. The two names refer to the same designer, who deliberately used different signatures throughout his career depending on the manufacturer, collaboration, or design line involved.

This has occasionally created confusion within the market, but today it is recognised as a natural part of his professional practice. Regardless of signature, his work is characterised by exceptional craftsmanship, precise proportions, and a refined sense of form that firmly places his furniture within the tradition of Danish Modern design.
