Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Bamboo Brush Pots with Scholar Relief Carvings, circa 1850
Pair of Chinese brush pots carved from richly patinated bamboo, dating from the Qing Dynasty, circa 1840–1850.
Both pieces are finely decorated with carved scholar figures in relief alongside calligraphic inscriptions to the reverse.
Presented in original condition with beautiful age patina, natural variations, and age-related cracks consistent with the material and period. These characteristics are typical for antique bamboo objects and contribute to their authenticity and character.
