Regency Period Rosewood Campaign Writing Box, England, circa 1820
Campaign travel writing box from the Regency period, England, circa 1820. Made for a military officer.
Crafted from high-quality rosewood, the box features protective brass edges on all corners. The lid is adorned with a fine inlaid border in dark wood, and in the center, a brass plaque with the owner's engraved initials, 'K.W.W.' Brass carrying handles are fitted on the sides.
Inside, the original brass lock remains intact along with a writing compartment designed for storing a pen and ink bottle. The interior is lined with green felt. The box is in its original, untouched excellent condition.
