Decorative French table lamp in gilt bronze, dating to the late 19th century and executed in the Rococo Revival style.
The sculptural stem is formed as an asymmetrical arrangement of scrolling foliate ornament incorporating a naturalistically modeled dog figure. Pierced rocaille decoration continues into the base, giving the piece a light and animated appearance characteristic of the Rococo aesthetic.
Originally conceived as an ornamental bronze object and later converted to electricity.
Well suited as decorative lighting on a side table, console, or desk.
Shade not included.
