Lidded stoneware vase designed by Jais Nielsen and Knud Andersen for Royal Copenhagen, 1953.
The vase features a four-sided body with relief depictions of the Four Evangelists, finished in deep red oxblood glaze (sang-de-boeuf).
The lid, crafted by Knud Andersen, is made of partially gilded and patinated bronze.
The vase is signed Jais and marked with the three wavy lines and the Royal Copenhagen hallmark. The lid is unmarked.
Executed in 1953. First quality.
