Art Deco Brass, Glass and Mahogany Tea or Dessert Trolley by Ernst Rockhausen, Germany, 1920s
Art Deco tea or patisserie trolley in brass, glass and mahogany – crafted in Germany circa 1920–30 by the renowned manufacturer Ernst Rockhausen, founded in 1866. Brass maker’s mark present (see photo).
This elegant trolley features a brass frame with glass panels on all sides and a fine mahogany base. One side functions as a drop-down tray, easily folded up or down, adding both functionality and visual elegance. Additionally, the glass top can be lifted off, allowing access from above – ideal for serving or display purposes.
The quality is evident in every detail – from the custom brass handles with glass insets to the beautifully designed wheels: two large rear wheels with brass spokes and wooden rims, and two smaller, black-lacquered wooden front wheels for easy manoeuvrability.
A top-quality piece – 100% original and professionally restored with great respect for its historical details and superior craftsmanship.
