Pair of Swedish 19th Century Gustavian Style Commodes in Black Painted Wood
Swedish pair of Gustavian style chest of drawers is crafted in black-painted wood, showcasing an architectural and decorative design.
Each commode features three drawers: the top drawer is adorned with a light gray painted meander pattern (á la grec), while the two lower drawers are decorated with geometric light gray painted motifs. All drwawers with patinated brass fittings.
Fine dentil molding details can be found beneath the top edge, complemented by elegant canted corners with fluted detailing. The commodes rest on tapered legs, also embellished with fluting.
Professionally restored by a conservator.
