Item of the Month
This month, we have selected a rare bronze sculpture by Gerhard Henning, created between 1938 and 1942 and signed “G. Henning No. I.”
The sculpture depicts a seated female figure with outstretched legs—a motif characteristic of Henning’s mature work, where serenity, balance, and sensuality are united in a simple and harmonious form.
This particular example is especially noteworthy as it is the first cast of the sculpture and carries an exceptional provenance from the renowned collection of Christian Kampmann.
A masterwork by one of the most important Danish sculptors of the twentieth century.
