Item of the Month

Each month, we highlight a piece that stands out from the ordinary and deserves special attention.

This month, we’ve chosen a vibrant and poetic piece by Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo, better known as Corneille – one of the central figures of the international CoBrA movement.

The work is titled “La fleur que le papillon affectionne” (“The flower cherished by the butterfly”) and was created in watercolour and gouache on paper in 1960.

It is signed and dated in the lower right corner and beautifully presented in a gilded wooden frame, which highlights the warm tones and adds a classical touch.
