Hand-carved tribal stool from the Philippines in solid molave hardwood, circa 1900–1920. Features a sculpted male head – also ideal as a plant pedestal.

Features a sturdy wooden frame, openwork base panels in black lacquer, floral details in red, and front calligraphy with the Chinese character for "Luck" (fu). Reverse side in deep red lacquer with natural patina.
